Yaquina Bay crabbing-Newport, OR

Ryan and Krystal came to visit us last weekend, we went crabbing on Yaquina Bay in Newport. We rented a 15 foot aluminum boat, had both ring traps and one crab pot. We set out in the bay around 10am and crabbed for about 4 hours. We caught 22 Dungeons crab and 2 red rocks. The shop where we rented the boat also cooks the crab right there off the docks, then has a shucking table to de-shell and clean your catch! Harrison thought it was pretty cool to be out on the water catching those crab. After our crabbing trip we drove Hwy 101 south stopping in Depot Bay for clam chowder then though Florence and Reedsport back to CG. Overall a great trip and awesome time! Salmon Fishing

Beau went with the neighbor and a few buddies Salmon fishing off the coast at Winchester Bay, OR. Didnt have a Salmon tag let along a fishing license but had a good time hanging out and being on the boat. First time out in the ocean on a boat, it was pretty cool! We were about 3 miles off the channel and in about 300 feet of water! Didnt catch anything but a bad day fishing beats a good day anywhere else...Next adventure is crabbing in Newport, OR with Ryan and Krystal-should bring home some keepers! Take care.

Eugene Emeralds

Last Friday night we all went to an Eugene Emeralds baseball game at PK park in Eugene, awesome stadium! It's the same baseball field that the U of O plays their games. It was a good time and reminded us of watching the Boise Hawks in the summer time. They played their last home games last weekend so we'll have to wait until next year! Enjoy the pictures.

Tubing-Dorena Lake

Our neighbors just got a new boat and invited Harrison and Beau out on the lake. First time tubing for Harrison, he was a little unsure at first but once he got out on the water he yelled "go faster!". We had a great time! Enjoy!

Weekend

Over the weekend we went to Dorena Lake twice. Saturday we cruised around the lake on the Row River Trail (17 mile paved trail that starts in town and wraps around Dorena Lake) with bikes then Sunday we headed out and relaxed along the shore line with a few beers. Harrison got to hang out with some ducks. The weather was perfect again! Finally figured out the timer on the camera so got some family pictures. Another good week ahead in Cottage Grove, OR! Hope everyone is doing well.

Chuck E Cheese!

Last Friday evening we went to Chuck E Cheese in Eugene, what's better then bland over priced pizza and 100 screaming kids? The answer is nothing when your 4 years old! Harrison had a great time. Enjoy the pictures.

Cottage Grove Lake-Lakeside Park

Yesterday morning we drove out to the other of two lakes near town, Cottage Grove lake is the smaller of the two but awesome just the same. It has three parks two boat launches and lots of great views. The fog rolls in then burns off mid morning. If we dont get around to buying a boat this year we plan on getting a canoe or inflatable raft to paddle along the shore line. We had fun skipping rocks and enjoying the outdoors. Utlimate Army Guys

Dad and Harrison had to play a game of army guys, we have awesome wood floors that are perfect. Now all we need is a fireworks stand to of course buy firecrackers and blow them up, maybe next year!

Deadliest-ish Catch

We all went to Winchester Bay over the weekend crabbing off the docks. We caught 40 or so but no keepers, all females or small male crab but it was a blast catching them! Harrison had a great time. At the end of August we plan on renting a boat and crab deeper waters with Ryan and Krystal, maybe then we'll have something to bring home for dinner! Hope all is well. Take care.
