We hadnt been to the coast since before Thanksgiving when Grandma Nell came to visit so we decided to jump in the car last Saturday and make the trip. It was overcast but mild, around 50 degrees with little wind which is rare for the coast at anytime. We stopped in Winchester Bay and walked down on the docks getting a close up view of the crabbing boats there. We then drove south to Coos Bay for lunch then headed out to the beach. This beach access was new for us, the area had a board walk and viewing point which was great. The surf was bigger then we had seen especially last summer. We spent some time flying Harrison's kite and walked up and down the beach. It was a great day! We will for sure come back to this spot as it's easy to access the beach from the parking area.
