Weekend Hiking Trip

Today on the way up to Casper we stopped and visited Independence Rock, a Wyoming state park about 60 miles from Rawlins. This rock, which is along the Oregon Trail, was used as a marker by emigrants, fur traders and settlers coming west from the Missouri river. This rock got it's name when travelers rested, half way of their 2000 mile trip, there in July 4th, 1841. We had fun climing up the face and walking around on the top, it got a little hairy coming down but we made it.

We spent the rest of the day shopping in Casper. Ate lunch at Old Chicago again. It was an overall great day! We hope everyone enjoys the pictures and had a great weekend!
